Twyla Hommert
Founding Partner
Ms. Twyla's fervor for Montessori education ignited during her AMI training in 2018, propelled her towards the dream of opening her own school. Remarkably, this aspiration swiftly materialized, with the purchase of the Nature's Path campus at the close of 2021. Before this endeavor, Ms. Twyla contributed her expertise to the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC), specializing in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) for children on the spectrum. Holding certification from the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) with a focus on fitness for children with special needs, she brings a unique skill set to her role. Married with two children, Ms. Twyla cherishes the collaborative effort that has transformed her dream of establishing this school into a tangible reality.
Vari Sheppard
Directing Partner
Ms. Vari's passion lies in the intricate world of early childhood development. She firmly believes that nurturing children in all aspects during this pivotal stage provides them with the strongest foundation for future life and education. Embracing the holistic approach of the Montessori philosophy, which supports the complete development of the child, Ms. Vari combines her Montessori AMI training with a master's degree in early childhood education. As the Director at Nature's Path, working alongside Ms. Twyla, Ms. Vari eagerly contributes to the Montessori community. Beyond her professional commitments, she is married and has one daughter. She loves to spend time with family and friends, travel, read, watch movies and hike.

Angie Fretz
Geode's Lead Guide
Ms. Angie, our accomplished lead guide in the Geode's classroom, recently completed her Montessori training in July 2023, showcasing her dedication to progressive education. With over a decade of experience working with students aged 2 to 12 years old, she proves herself as a committed and creative educator. Ms. Angie's passion for nature, botany, and science is evident in her dynamic teaching approach. Actively participating in professional development workshops, she continually refines her teaching skills. Outside the classroom, Ms. Angie relishes moments with her daughter and engages in outdoor pursuits like hiking, swimming, and attending garden and sustainability events.

Solera Gohil
Geode's Assisting Partner
​Ms. Solera is deeply committed to empowering children to think for themselves, explore the world around them, and embrace their imagination. As a Montessori assistant, she supports children in their self-directed learning, guiding them with care while fostering an environment of independence and exploration. With a passion for nurturing each child's essential self, Ms. Solera helps children discover their own paths and understand the power of their choices. Through a nurturing and supportive environment, she encourages each child to develop confidence in their ability to grow into whoever they aspire to be. Outside of her work with children, she enjoys spending time with her partner and two beloved cats, reading, and exploring new ways to inspire curiosity and hope in generations to come.

Kryss Huang
Outdoor Partner
Ms. Kryss, brings a love of for nature to our environment, enhancing the learning journey for our children. She integrates outdoor education with traditional Montessori principles creating a rich, multisensory experience that nurtures both mind and spirit. Ms. Kryss' has a passion for yoga, and gardening, which fosters an understanding of sustainability and the life cycle of plants. Her practice of forest and flower bathing encourages a deep, sensory connection with nature, promoting emotional well-being and environmental stewardship. Additionally, Ms. Kryss' has a passion for travel and vintage thrifting. Through her multifaceted approach, Ms. Kryss not only impacts knowledge but also cultivates a profound appreciation for the natural world.

Cassi Mackey
Consulting Partner
Meet Cassi Mackey, M.Ed. is a Montessori educator with over 30 year's experience as a teacher and school leader. She is [passionate about creating identity-safe spaces and improving relationships through Courageous Conversations, Collaborative Coaching, and Diversity, Equity, and inclusion practices. Cassi believes these approaches lead to more meaningful relationships and broader, compassionate worldview, essential for serving children and humanity's future. As an American Montessori Society (AMS) School Accreditation Commissioner and Association Montessori International (AMI) certified School Administrator, Cassi consults with Montessori communities to generate positive, lasting change.
